Mark Marissen, Principal
Mark Marissen founded Burrard Communications Inc. in 1998, after serving as a senior advisor to federal cabinet ministers in three different departments, working both in Ottawa and Vancouver.
Mr. Marissen's corporate reputation has been built around his strong understanding of the relationship between government and business. More broadly, Mr. Marissen is regarded as one of Canada's foremost political strategists having served as both National Co-Chair (2008) and British Columbia Co-Chair (2004 and 2006) for Liberal Party of Canada election campaigns.
As a strategic advisor for major West Coast projects, Mr. Marissen has provided day-to-day advice to clients in diverse fields such as trade, financial services, transportation, telecommunications, healthcare, renewable energy, and resource industries.
Over the last two decades, Mr. Marissen has developed a valuable skill set in advocacy, policy development and opinion research. Mr. Marissen has a wide national network and was listed in Vancouver Magazine's Power 50 list as one of Vancouver's most powerful players.
Mr. Marissen has a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Carleton University in Ottawa. He also attended Simon Fraser University in Vancouver.
