Derrick brings an enormous depth of experience to Burrard with more than 30 years recruitment experience in the mining and engineering sectors.

Mr. Ward spent over 20 years in variety of senior human resources roles within one of the world's largest industrial mining groups and served as Manager, Human Resources for Cominco Engineering Services Ltd.  Within the Cominco family of companies, Derrick recruited hundreds of executive, professional and technical personnel in a wide range of disciplines. 

Mr. Ward also served as Manager Human Resources for the H.A. Simons Mining Group and has provided leadership to cooperative education programs at the BC Institute of Technology and the University of Victoria.  In addition, Mr. Ward has provided recruitment and human resources consulting services targeted to the engineering and mining industries.
